A STEM Adventure For Cruise Guests
What is the Elixir of Life?
NOTE: In this immersive adventure intended for higher level experiences and hosts with more comprehensive resources. It is provided free of charge so that our clients can see a strong example of how our learning system works and what is included. Typical adventures can be much lower scale for amount and cost of resources.
Plot Synopsis: Your attendees are thrust into a crime-solving adventure set aboard a cruise ship in the year 2070. As onboard investigators, the attendees begin their adventure in the passenger cabin of Dr. Lisa Lenkov, a famed scientist who was found unconscious earlier that morning. By completing a series of puzzles and challenges, they will then piece together what happened to Dr. Lenkov, and why. The participants must then put their investigative skills to the test to retrieve a stolen secret possession of Dr. Lenkov, catch the thief, and revive the scientist before the cruise ship docks.
This fun and engaging experience is also educational. Your participants will brush up on their knowledge of Longitudinal and Latitudinal coordinates as well as solve logic puzzles that tap into higher-order thinking skills. They will also learn about endothermic and exothermic chemical reactions, and then use this information in a hands-on, inquiry-based experiment in order to complete the final challenge.
How Does it Work?
Using immersive storytelling to engage participants, this educational STEM adventure surpasses simple participation and promotes emotional involvement. Now you can teach a science class with a story or even a murder mystery where the participants work together to figure out who the murderer was using chemistry and biology experiments. Each adventure has puzzles, activities, and clues that lead the students to discover who the murderer is, all revolving around the curriculum and the story.
Everyone wants to be a hero. In our adventures, your attendees actually play the role of a hero who solves mysteries using STEM and teamwork. Elixir of Life isn’t a program that your attendees take… it’s an online course that teaches you, the instructor, how to run the adventure, as well as providing digital slides, printable instructions, supply list, and marketing materials for promoting your adventures. You will receive step-by-step instructions and videos on each stage of the story. All the information you need to run Elixir of Life is on our course learning platform and explained in the Host’s Guide.
Is it Really Free?
Yes! You can even run it in your own facility. Although the supply list is on the more extensive side, you can create your own substitutes. We provide a list of everything necessary for running the adventure. We are confident that once you experience our adventures, you will want more.
What this course provides:
- Instructions on how to run your own Elixir of Life STEM Adventure along with step-by-step written instructions and videos
- All of the printable clues, images, and audio for making your adventure immersive and exciting
- Marketing materials such as a digital flyer and social media banners to help you promote your adventure to your attendees and a zip folder of the individual digital assets to add to your own branded marketing
- A master list of all the supplies, examples of where to find them, and a sample letter on how to ask for supply donations if needed
