Guardian Adventures is a Burlington, MA company offering story-based educational adventures for kids, teens, and adults as well as providing classes in swordsmanship instruction and other unique and creative subjects. Our educational summer camps attract customers from around the globe and our consulting division provides curriculum development and training for both local businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies.

About Your Role


The Project Manager manages key projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

The Project Manager is also expected to participate in the development of Curriculum Design for educational theatrical adventures with the Curriculum Development Team. This includes brainstorming plotlines, designing STEM and cultural activities, making sure storylines adhere to policy and established ethos, working with our Cultural Consultants, and more.

The successful candidate will work to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments and development teams to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and adhere to policy.

May require a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field of Theater Management or a related area. Familiar with a variety of theater and stage concepts, curriculum design, practices and procedures. In this role, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others, and work with a wide degree of creativity.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and communication
  • Delegate project tasks based on staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives
  • Schedule and participate in Curriculum Design meetings with teams, documenting decisions, researching resources, and communicating results with Management
  • Brainstorm plots, characters, STEM activities, and cultural interactions with the team for each project
  • Work closely with Event Coordinator for scheduling, staffing, and logistics
  • Communicating with Cultural Educator regarding stories, plots, characters, meeting dates/times, and feedback needs
  • Researching and interviewing future Cultural Consultants
  • Working with Marketing Department to communicate marketing materials for events or projects as well as design elements required for projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in theater management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Curriculum Design 
  • Project Management experience with emphasis on tracking progress and projecting/meeting deadlines
  • Scheduling meetings 
  • Confidence to hold staff accountable to deadlines
  • Experience adhering to a budget
  • Computer skills with Excel/Spreadsheets and G Suite or similar office software
  • Experience managing or supervising a team of creative professionals
